HC Deb 14 June 1976 vol 913 c20W
30. Mr. Onslow

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what estimate he has formed of the effect on trade between the United Kingdom and Iran of the prevailing delay of 36 hours or more on telephone calls from London to Teheran.

Mr. Meacher

I am not aware of any loss of trade resulting directly from such delays and it would be extremely difficult to make an estimate of the effects. Iran remains one of the United Kingdom's top 20 export markets.
