asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will publish a rough estimate of:

  1. (1) the amount of VAT paid each week by a family of two adults and two children under 11, in which the head of the household is earning (i) £35 and (ii) £70 per week;
  2. (2) the amount of VAT paid per week by (i) a single pensioner, and (ii) a pensioner couple, with no other source of income;
  3. (3) the amount paid each week in Customs and Excise duties by a family of two adults and two children under 11, in which the head of the household is earning (i) £35 and (ii) £70 per week;
  4. (4) the amount paid each week in Customs and Excise duties by (i) a single pensioner, and (ii) a pensioner couple with no other source of income.
