§ Mr. Martenasked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland if he will give financial details of the EEC grant aid of £1,193,511 to Northern Ireland showing the projects to which it is to be devoted and stating whether the aid is for topping up existing projects as for totally new projects.
§ Mr. OrmeThe EEC assistance to which the hon. Member refers resulted from claims made last year on the European Regional Development Fund in 565W respect or the Government's continuing programme for the provision of advance factories and industrial estates in Northern Ireland. The projects which were the subject of applications were as follows:
A contribution under the Regional Fund was requested and agreed by the fund authorities in relation to these projects taken together. The contribution received from the fund in respect of these projects will make possible additional assistance to selected public bodies with responsibility for the development of industry-related infrastructure in Northern Ireland.
