Dr. Hampson

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science which local authorities have established separate 16 to 19 age group institutions; how many there are in each authority; and how many sixth form schemes there are which involve further education colleges.

In September 1975 there were 64 sixth form colleges in 29 English local education authorities. The distribution of these is as follows:

There was also one sixth form centre operating in Wolverhampton.

At the same time there were nine schemes in operation in England where arrangements for sixth form education were made solely at colleges of further education. The distribution of these is as follows:
