In October 1976 the university admitted 419 undergraduates to the first year of courses in science and technology, against a target of 422. A further 275 undergraduates and 115 postgraduates—97 full-time and 18 part-time—are on courses in the School of Industrial and Business Studies. 94 undergraduates were admitted in October 1976, against a target of 92.
