§ Mr. Graham Pageasked the Minister for Overseas Development, what reforms he has made in his departmental procedure for laying Statutory Instruments following upon the failure to lay before Parliament the Overseas Service (Pensions Supplement) (Amendment) Regulations 1976 until a week after it had come into operation, as reported by the Joint Committee on Statutory Instruments in its 32nd Report of last Session (HC 54-xlvii).
§ Mr. JuddNormally the departmental procedure for laying Statutory Instruments works so that this situation does not arise, and I regret that it arose on this occasion. No reform of the procedure is necessary, but only vigilance to514W see that it is observed. This will be maintained.
