Mr. Woof

asked the Secretary of State for Trade (1) what was the value of United Kingdom exports to the rest of the member countries of the EEC as compared with other non-EEC countries in 1975 and as a percentage of their value in 1974;

(2) what was the value of United Kingdom imports from the rest of the member countries of the EEC as compared with non-EEC countries in 1975 and as a percentage of their value in 1974 for which figures are available.

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what discussions he has had with his EEC colleagues regarding Community assistance in promoting British exports.

Mr. Meacher

My right hon. Friend meets his European colleagues from time to time and discusses a wide range of trade problems. One of the aims in all such discussions is to assist British exports.
