asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what consultation he has had on the Green Paper on the reorganisation of the water service.

Mr. Denis Howell

Well over 200 bodies and individuals have now responded to the invitation to comment on the Green Paper; others have undertaken to do so within the next week or so. The bulk of the letters are from local authorities. My right hon. Friend will take careful account of the points made in reaching conclusions on the review.
