§ Mr. Newtonasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many war widows have been issued with provisional assessments to income tax for 1976–77; and what arrangements have been made to 690W inform them of the changes which would arise from the enactment of the present Finance Bill.
§ Mr. Denzil Davies,pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 30th July 1976; Vol. 916, c.466],gave the following information:
I am afraid that there is no record of the precise number of cases. Inspectors of taxes will be writing to all those concerned.
