§ Mr. Forresterasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science how many full-time and full-time equivalent teachers were employed in primary and secondary schools in Stoke-on-Trent for each of the years 1970 to 1976; how many pupils were receiving full-time education in those schools; and what was the pupil-teacher ratio for each.

Since the reorganisation of local government, which took place on 1st April 1974, Stoke-on-Trent has been part of the Staffordshire local education authority and the extraction of subsequent figures for the area concerned would incur a disproportionate cost. However the latest figures for Staffordshire are as shown.
