§ Mr. Ronald Atkinsasked the Secretary of State for the Environment how he calculated in the consultation document that goods vehicles over 3.5 tons gross vehicle weight contributed only about 8 per cent. of their road provision and maintenance costs.
§ Dr. GilbertThe basis of the calculation is given in Paper 6 of Volume 2 of the Consultation Document. I am sending my hon. Friend additional details of the figures. The category of vehicles referred to cover 80 per cent. of their attributable track costs.
