HC Deb 03 August 1976 vol 916 c693W
Mr. Skeet

asked the Secretary of State for Energy how much of the crude oil forming part of the BNOC entitlement, whether royalty or participation crude, has been sold, or agreed to be sold, under bulk supply contracts to foreign State entities.

Dr. J. Dickson Mabon

None.

Mr. Skeet

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what is the percentage of crude oil likely to be extracted from commercial fields listed separately in the North Sea by primary and secondary recovery methods.

Mr. Oakes

The nature of most North Sea fields is such they they require artificial pressure maintenance from early in their productive life. The terms "primary recovery" and "secondary recovery", as normally understood, are, however, not appropriate for describing current production techniques, so percentages of production cannot be ascribed to them.
