§ Mr. S. McAddenasked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will seek a reuction in the EEC price for tinplate, in view of the increased cost of canned food in the United Kingdom resulting from the BSC decision to raise its prices for tinplate to EEC levels.
§ Mr. KaufmanNo. The Treaty of Paris, under whieh the EEC tinplate producers operate, recognises the need for prices to allow for amortisation and to provide normal opportunities for a return on invested capital. It is these which the BSC increases are seeking to secure.
