§ Mr. Wigley
asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what were the amounts of petrol duty raised in Wales during the last two financial years.
§ Mr. Robert Sheldon
It is estimated that hydrocarbon oil duty borne by residents of Wales was about £90 million a year. Separate estimates for petrol have not been made, but petrol usually represents about 70 per cent. of hydrocarbon oil revenue in the United Kingdom as a whole.
