§ Mr. Wallasked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs why visas were refused for the Taiwan team at the All-England Badminton Championships.
§ Mr. LuardHer Majesty's Government do not welcome visits to Britain by Taiwan sporting and cultural teams claiming to represent China. In the present case the original applications were not pursued and we assumed that they had lapsed. New applications, made in March, were still under consideration when the All-England Championships took place.
