Footnotes:
* Prior to 23rd May 1974, the effective date of the Halsbury award, there were no nationally negotiated scales for occupational therapy or remedial gymnastics teachers. Where teachers were employed in NHS schools for these professions the Department normally authorised the appropriate physiotherapy grades.
† The Halsbury Report resulted in extensive changes in the grading structure; taking physiotherapists as an example, the old and new grades broadly correspond as follows, although some individuals will have received a higher new grading than that indicated as a result of certain new grading criteria.
