HC Deb 05 April 1976 vol 909 cc81-2W
Sir John Rodgers

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what happens to wines and spirits confiscated at airports; when and where are they sold; if these sales are advertised; and if so, where.

Mr. Robert Sheldon

If they are in saleable condition, such wines and spirits are sold periodically in lots by public tender. Sales take place at Queen's Warehouses sited at larger airports and seaports. Advertising in the Press is left to the discretion of the local collector of Customs and Excise.
