§ Mr. Hooleyasked the Minister of Overseas Development what action is being taken by Her Majesty's Government to assist developing countries in the promotion of industrial production.
§ Mr. PrenticeUnder the aid programme we are helping not only to build factories, but to support industrial management, research and technical education, to create industrial estates, and to supply a wide range of components and spares to many industries in the developing countries. We are ready particularly to favour satisfactory industrial schemes which create new employment, or will themselves help to develop the rural sector.
