HC Deb 21 October 1975 vol 898 cc147-8W
Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Trade if his Department will consider restricting its audit fee in the Nation Life liquidation proceedings as much as possible.

Mr. Shore

, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 20th October 1975], gave the following information: There are no grounds, on present information, for waiving the audit fees which are prescribed under the appropriate fees order. We are, however, keeping the matter under review.

Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what is the expected date for the conclusion of the liquidation and the date for the final distribution of Nation Life.

Mr. Shore

, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 20th October 1975], gave the following information: An interim distribution of 41.5p in the £ is expected to be paid on 30th October 1975. The liquidator is doing all he can to complete realisations of the assets and to hasten further distributions but he cannot at present say when he will be in a position to make a further payment and to conclude the liquidation.
