HC Deb 26 November 1975 vol 901 c204W
Mr. Newens

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if he will make further protests and representations through such channels as are available, without according any degree of recognition to the illegal Rhodesian regime, on behalf of those Africans who continue to be detained without trial in Rhodesia.

Mr. Ennals

We shall certainly take every opportunity to do so. The Government deplores the detention of Mr. Smith's political opponents without trial, and my right hon. Friend and I have made this clear on several occasions in the past year.
