Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Wales what representations he has made in Brussels about setting up an office for Wales in Brussels as an extension of the Welsh Office's Common Market unit.

Mr. John Morris

None. The present arrangements for promoting and safeguarding Welsh interests in Brussels, by frequent attendance of Welsh Office officials with a day-to-day knowledge of Welsh problems, are working extremely well.

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he will list in the Official Report the committees of the EEC on which Wales has been given observer status.

Mr. John Morris

None as observers. But the Welsh Office takes an active part regularly in meetings of the Regional Policy Committee and the Regional Development Fund Management Committee, and will also attend such other committees as may be concerned with matters of interest to Wales.
