§ Lord REIGATEasked Her Majesty's Government:
Whether consideration of Social Work Support to the National Health Service will be within the terms of reference of the Royal Commission.
§ Lord WINTERBOTTOMSocial work services for the National Health Service are provided by local authorities under statutory collaboration arrangements. It will be for the Royal Commission to decide whether these services fall within its terms of reference which require it "to consider, in the interests of patients and of those who work in the National Health Service, the best use and management of the financial and manpower resources of the National Health Service."
