HC Deb 16 May 1975 vol 892 cc184-5W
Lord James Douglas-Hamilton

asked the Lord President of the Council how many inquiries the Government Referendum Information Unit has had from Scotland; and on what subjects.

Mr. Edward Short

Over the period since the unit started work on 3rd April it is estimated that there have been about 150 inquiries from Scotland. Since direct lines were installed to allow inquirers to telephone to an Edinburgh number instead of a London one at the end of last month, calls have been more frequent. The main subjects covered have been food prices, North Sea oil and fisheries, sovereignty, devolution and regional policy.
