§ Mr. Greville Jannerasked the Secretary of State for Social Services whether she will provide a mobility allowance for persons who are kept alive through the use of kidney machines and who must have transport available for work or for emergencies.
§ Mr. Alfred MorrisAs my hon. and learned Friend will be aware, the intention in regard to the proposed mobility allowance is to make it available to non-drivers and drivers alike who satisfy criteria broadly akin to the medical 403W criteria of the existing vehicle scheme; and a need for haemodialysis would not in itself enable a person to do this.
