asked the Secretary of State for Industry whether he will make a statement about the financial provisions for the NEB organising committee.

Mr. Benn

Yes. I propose that such expenditure as the committee may think it right to incur on necessary preparatory work to enable the NEB to exercise its statutory functions after Royal Assent to the Industry Bill shall be met from the Contingency Fund. The Fund will be repaid by the NEB when it is set up.
