§ Mr. Michael Spicerasked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will consider introducing legislation to ensure that employees of a company threatened with nationalisation have the right to indicate their preference as to whether or not their company should remain in private hands.
Mr. HeiferNo. It is already the Government's policy that where proposals are made for the extension of public ownership to a particular firm or industry the workers, as well as the other interests affected, will be consulted and their views taken into account.
