§ Mr. Denis Howell:Local authority returns are still not complete but I estimate capital expenditure in England on sport and recreation for 1973–74 at upwards of £60 million. There is no reliable means of estimating the corresponding expenditure for 1974–75 at present, mainly because of difficulties brought about by local government reorganisation. The information on current expenditure is not separately recorded.
