§ Mr. Michael McGuireasked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will publish in the Official Report details of the number of workers in the textile industry at the latest date for which figures are available who are on short-time working expressed as a percentage of the total work force in the textile industry.
§ Mr. John Fraser:In the week ended 18th January 1975, 20,800 operatives in the textiles industries—Order XIII of the Standard Industrial Classification—were either stood off for the whole week or were working short time in Great Britain. This number was 4.1 per cent. of all employees in employment in these industries.
