asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether they will state:

  1. A. The total tax paid by a married man with no dependents earning £10,000, £18,000 and £24,000 in 1971–72;
  2. B. The total tax deducted from the same incomes in the financial year 1974–75; and
  3. C. The reduction in purchasing power of the net income remaining between the two dates in question.
