HC Deb 30 June 1975 vol 894 c310W
Mr. Litterick

asked the Secretary of State for Energy, what progress his Department has made in its efforts to persuade the oil companies to reduce the pollutant tetra ethyl lead content in petrol.

Mr. John Smith

My right hon. Friend the previous Secretary of State announced on 9th December—[Vol. 883, c. 28–29)—that there would be a thorough review of the medical and economic implications of the use of lead additives in petrol. This review is in progress, and an announcement will be made in due course.
