HC Deb 17 July 1975 vol 895 c600W
Mr. Biffen

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if the recent pay settlement affecting 9,000 manual workers at the British Leyland's Lancashire bus and truck factory involving a £6 a week flat rate rise and a £52 a head lump sum payment scheduled for September falls within the incomes policy outlined in Command Paper No. 6151; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Booth

After lengthy negotiations, a settlement at the British Leyland Lancashire bus and truck plant was reached on 10th July for implementation on 15th September. I understand, however, that the company is now reviewing the settlement in the light of the White Paper "The Attack on Inflation" (Command No. 6151).
