§ Mr. Biffenasked the Secretary of State for Employment if the recent pay settlement affecting 9,000 manual workers at the British Leyland's Lancashire bus and truck factory involving a £6 a week flat rate rise and a £52 a head lump sum payment scheduled for September falls within the incomes policy outlined in Command Paper No. 6151; and if he will make a statement.
§ Mr. BoothAfter lengthy negotiations, a settlement at the British Leyland Lancashire bus and truck plant was reached on 10th July for implementation on 15th September. I understand, however, that the company is now reviewing the settlement in the light of the White Paper "The Attack on Inflation" (Command No. 6151).
