HC Deb 17 July 1975 vol 895 cc599-600W
Mr. Nicholas Winterton

asked the Secretary of State for Employment how many persons in the Macclesfield employment exchange area have undertaken courses at Government skillcentres during the last two years and how many persons were not accepted for courses during the same period; and for what reason.

Mr. Harold Walker

I am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that during the two years ending 30th June 1975, 13 people in the Macclesfield employment office area completed courses at skillcentres-formerly Government training centres. Six people were not accepted for training of whom three failed the basic assessment test and three were found unsuitable for their chosen trade by a selection panel.
