HC Deb 13 February 1975 vol 886 cc180-1W
Mr. Hooley

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether he will take action to assist the process plant industry to take advantage of the world wide demand for its products; and what specific recommendations were made by NEDC about this industry at the meeting on 5th February.

Mr. Dell

The process plant industry is a sector which is being studied in the context of removing constraints on the supply of investment goods. Certain proposals for further work were made at the last meeting of NEDC, and a report is expected shortly on the heavy fabricating side of the industry. Recognising the importance of this particular sector the council has asked for regular progress reports.
