HC Deb 13 February 1975 vol 886 c181W
Mr. Hooley

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what specific proposals were made to help the chemical industry at the meeting of NEDC on 5th February; and if he will take steps to stimulate investment in that industry.

Mr. Dell

The chemical industry has a good record of investment, but the Chemicals Industry Association has suggested various steps the Government might take, mostly in the field of macro-economic policy, which would ensure that this investment continued at a high level. Their suggestions have been referred, for more specific courses of action to be determined, to the Chemicals EDC which has been asked to report back urgently to the council.
