§ Mr. Adam Butlerasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department what 184W are the immigration figures for the last available 12 months, and the preceding four years; of those for the last available 12 months, how many immigrants entered the country with work permits, how many as dependants and how many under special quota arrangements; and if he will list, for the same period, by individual country of destination and origin, the emigration and immigration figures.
§ Mr. Alexander W. LyonThe total number admitted for settlement on arrival in the nine months from January to September 1974, the latest period for which figures are available, is 22,055. This total was made up as follows:
Commonwealth citizens admitted for settlement excluding United Kingdom passport holders (mainly dependants of people settled here) 8,978 Foreign nationals admitted for settlement 4,963 UKPH special voucher holders 2,562 Other UKPH admitted for settlement, mainly dependants 5,552 In addition, 15,925 work permit holders, and 4,170 dependants of work permit holders, entered the country in the same period.
