HC Deb 15 December 1975 vol 902 cc489-90W
34. Mr. Blaker

asked the Secretary of State for Trade whether he is satisfied with the arrangements for encouraging tourism in the different areas of the United Kingdom.

Mr. Deakins

Within the inevitable constraints on overall resources it is my concern to ensure that tourist potential in all parts of the country shall receive proper encouragement, and I believe present arrangements which are based on the statutory boards can secure this.

Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Trade what was the value of the tourist industry to Wales, Scotland and England, respectively, last year.

Mr. Deakins
