HC Deb 15 December 1975 vol 902 c448W
Mr. Michael Latham

asked the Prime Minister to what legislative or policy factors he attributes the increase in non-industrial staff in the Cabinet Office from 658 on 1st July 1975 to 681 on 1st October.

The Prime Minister

The increase is attributable to improved recruitment, within previously agreed levels, in the general support services and the Secretariat of the Office and also within the Central Statistical Office in furtherance of the improvements to which I referred in my answer to the hon. Member for Melton (Mr. Latham) on 26th November.
