asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what was the total cost of operating the incident centres.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

, pursuant to his reply [Official Report, 10th December 1975; Vol. 902, c. 271], gave the following information:

The cost of the Government incident centres was of the order of £50,000 Some £45,000 of this represented the extra cost of staffing the operation. The remainder included the cost of telephone calls, hire and operation of remote copiers and supply of furniture.
