§ Mr. Reidasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will list in the Official Report (1) the numbers of staff employed on 1st May 1975 by each of the county and burgh councils now contained within the Central Region, (2) the numbers of staff now employed by the Central Region, Clackmannan District, Falkirk District and Stirling District Councils and (3) the total salary and wages bill for each authority, both before and after regionalisation.
§ Mr. William RossAs I explained in reply to the hon. Member for Perth and East Perthshire (Mr. Crawford) on 12th 485W November—[Vol. 899, c. 735–6]—details of the numbers and costs of staff employed by individual former and new local authorities are not available. The hon. Member will realise that, even if the figures were available, they would not be comparable owing to changes in areas and responsibilities.
