HC Deb 10 April 1975 vol 889 cc477-8W
Mr. Wm. Ross

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what he a minimum common safeguarded level of prices below which imported oil should not be sold in member countries' domestic economies. The details remain to be worked out. The minimum price concept is not, however, on the agenda of the meeting between representatives of oil consuming and producing nations currently taking place in Paris and whose purpose is to draw up arrangements for a further conference at which issues of substance would be discussed. The question of a minimum import price has been considered within the EEC and the members have been successfully co-ordinating their views in EEC discussions on IEA work.
