HC Deb 10 April 1975 vol 889 cc478-9W
Mrs. Winifred Ewing

asked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food if he will make a statement on the sale of surplus EEC cheese outside the EEC at a loss; and if he will indicate the quantities and the prices involved.

Mr. Bishop

There have been no intervention stocks of cheese in the Community for some years. Some exports of certain cheeses from the Community are eligible for export refunds. The purpose of these is to enable commercial exports from the Community to continue, by allowing for differences between Community prices and prices on certain third country markets.
