Mr. Banks

asked the Secretary of State for Energy what was the price of medium grade domestic coal per hundredweight charged to the consumer in October 1974; and what were the comparable figures for each of the preceding seven years.

Coal prices to the domestic consumer show wide variation dependent upon location and to a lesser extent on the quantity delivered.

The following table shows typical prices in Leeds for deliveries of 5–9 cwt.
