asked the Secretary of State for Employment what are the numbers of convictions for breaches of the Factories Acts in the clothing industry in Great Britain and the London area, respectively.
§ Mr. Harold Walker
In 1973 there were 71 convictions in Great Britain for breaches of the Factories Act and associated legislation in the clothing industry. Eleven of these were in the London area.
The comparative figures for the first nine months of 1974 are 47 convictions, 25 of them in the London area.
