§ Mr. Kilroy-Silk
asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department when he intends to begin his re-examination of the working of the Children and Young Persons Act 1969; and what plans lie has to consult such organisations as the National Association of Probation Officers.
§ Mr. Alexander W. Lyon
I would refer my hon. Friend to the reply I gave on 20th November to Questions by the hon. Member for Bournemouth, East (Mr. Cordle).—[Vol. 881, c.434–5.]—My right hon. Friend and I, together with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for Social Services and my right hon. and learned Friend the Secretary of State for Wales, pay careful attention to the views of those concerned with the working of 541W this legislation, including the probation and after-care service. The National Association of Probation Officers has already written to us about the Act.
