Mr. Wigley

asked the Secretary of State for Employment if he will list in the OFFICIAL REPORT the average hourly earnings for men aged 21 years and over in October 1973, or a more recent convenient date, for Wales and Great Britain, respectively, in the following standard industrial classification groups: food, drink and tobacco; instrument engineering; shipbuilding and marine engineering; paper, printing and publishing; and public administration.

The information as set out below is from the October 1973 inquiry into the earnings and hours of manual workers. Details for the October 1974 inquiry are due to appear in the February 1975 issue of the Department of Employment Gazette.
