HC Deb 21 November 1974 vol 881 c489W
Mr. Dalyell

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what action he is taking to establish deep-diving training in Loch Fyne and Loch Linnhe; and if he will make a statement.

Mr. Harold Walker

I am informed by the Manpower Services Commission that an inter-departmental working party under the chairmanship of the Training Services Agency has recently recommended the creation of an underwater training centre in western Scotland to provide deep-diving training. The Manpower Services Commission has accepted the recommendation and has proposed that the capital cost of the centre should be met from public funds available to the commission. My colleagues and I are now studying this recommendation.
