HC Deb 19 November 1974 vol 881 c376W
Mr. Gwynfor Evans

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment how much money the Council for Small Industries in Rural Areas has spent on administration and advisory services in Wales and England, respectively, in each year since 1970.

Mr. John Silkin

The expenditure is not recorded separately for each country but the totals for both togeher are:

£
1970–71 610,000
1971–72 740,000
1972–73 786,500
1973–74 887,500
1974–75 (Estimated) 1,180,000

A complete analysis of these figures would require considerable effort but examination of the 1973–74 expenditure indicates that about 15 per cent. was in respect of Wales, and there is no reason to think that the proportion in the other years was significantly different.
