asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when work will begin on the Brough and Appleby bypasses on the A66 road.

§ Mr. Carmichael
On the Brough bypass—soon, if any of the tenders now being considered is acceptable.
On the Appleby bypass—in 1976–77, subject to the availability of funds and satisfactory conclusion of the statutory procedures.
