Two new service areas are under construction; one on the M6 at Sandbach between the Knutsford and Keele service areas, the other on the M1 at Rothersthorpe between Watford Gap and Newport Pagnell service areas. Extensions are planned at eight of the 14 existing service areas on the M6 and M1.
