asked the Secretary of State for the Environment when the Newcastle-under-Lyme inner ring road project will be started.

Mr. Carmichael

This scheme is now the responsibility of Staffordshire County Council, and under the arrangements for transport supplementary grant operative from 1st April 1975 it will be for the council to determine when it can be started.
